Kareem Abdul-Jabbar helped bring three National Championships to UCLA during his college career. While setting numerous school records that still stand today–including highest career scoring average, most points in a season and in a single game, as well as four other records–he also earned a degree in history. His signature "sky-hook" shot, where he arched his 7'2" frame and released the ball at its highest point, proved to be near impossible to block and contributed to Abdul-Jabbar winning six NBA Championships, six NBA MVPs and becoming the reigning all-time leading scorer in NBA history. Transcending basketball to become a cultural icon, Abdul-Jabbar has starred in films, authored several books and was named Cultural Ambassador of the United States by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2012.
