Her work creates moving arguments.
Economics associate professor and economic historian, Leah Platt Boustan applies economic analysis to historical issues, reinventing our understanding of mass migrations throughout history. She’s a young, rising star in her discipline, and an authority on issues that impact our interpretation of history. Boustan’s work has been cited in The Huffington Post and Newsweek and used to support arguments that will have a major impact on society–including suburbanization, mass transit and even marriage. Boustan brings the same expertise into the classroom, receiving two UCLA teaching awards for her undergraduate courses.
