Our top priority is the health and safety of our community and the public at large. To that end, UC is following the guidance of state and local Departments of Public Health, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

In addition, the UC Office of the President has activated its Emergency Operations Center, and is holding frequent conference calls, including medical, environmental health and safety, administrative, and emergency management leadership from across the entire UC system to ensure a coordinated and timely response to this fluid situation.

As one of the state’s primary health care providers, UC Health’s five medical centers have a proven track record of protecting and safely caring for patients with infectious diseases and severe illnesses. These facilities and protocols enable UC Health to care for patients, while protecting the health of our faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors.

Medical staff at our campus health centers and our campuses are also extensively trained in emergency preparedness and continuously, carefully screen patients for multiple infectious diseases based on symptoms, travel history and up-to-date recommendations from local, state and federal public health officials.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
